Day Fifty Nine

Ok, so what happens after the pieces are cast and removed from the investment and cut off their sprues? Its tooling time! Step one, use the roughest disc on the flexshaft to grind off the knobs where the sprues attached to the piece, and remove any other gobs of metal that are out of place. Then, using a series of lighter and lighter grits of polishing wheels, buff that baby up until she shines. Enjoy!

  1. You know, I think this documentation of the process might lend to the value of the piece. I have to believe that seeing the lengths you go to in order to create that piece people see in the gallery can only reinforce the legitimacy of the price tag.
