Day Fifty Five

Today's blog entry is dedicated to the woman who extended the invitation for me to come here in the first place. Carissa Hussong, the Executive Director of our beloved Metal Museum, has gracefully and adeptly helped the Museum survive and prosper after its founding director James Wallace retired after 30 years of service. Wally left some big boots to fill and Carissa has filled them, filled them well, she's even made them a little more stylish, with spiky heels and pointy toes. Here's a big heartfelt thank you to Carissa, for having the insight and empathy to know a three month residency is just what I needed. I am forever indebted to her for her wisdom, her leadership capabilities, her savvy, and her support.

Leadership should be born out of the understanding of the needs of those who would be affected by it.
